Steam distillation separates volatile aromatic compounds from plant material without chemical solvents. Its performance depends on raw-material quality, particle structure, steam balance, condensation and final product controls.
Preparing the plant material
Selected aromatic herbs are cleaned and loaded into the distillation vessel in a controlled way. Moisture, storage time and particle structure can influence both yield and composition, while over-compacted or uneven loading can prevent steam from moving consistently.
Carrying and condensing volatile compounds
Steam passes through the plant material and carries volatile compounds into the cooling system. The vapour is condensed back into liquid under controlled temperature and flow conditions designed to preserve the characteristic component profile.
A well-managed distillation process turns an aromatic plant’s natural character into a controlled and traceable product.

Separation and product control
The essential oil and aromatic water separate through their density difference. The oil is rested, filtered and evaluated according to customer specifications. Intended use, analysis scope, packaging and target application should be shared during the enquiry stage.
